Okay, Let's Talk About This Dress.

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a fun weekend celebrating Easter! Nate and I really did, but we were so busy this year... and last, we did't take a single picture! But what else is new? That's just life, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I woke this morning really thankful for getting to do what I do, and for the people I get to do it with. We had a great weekend celebrating the Resurrection and witnessing our friends' spontaneous baptism. Getting to be a part of what God is doing in Bakersfield has been so insane. What a great day.

So, when it comes to getting dressed for church, while I do think a lot about fashion, I have to consider function just as much. I normally don't wear dresses on stage for worship because our stage at our downtown campus is about 4 ft high, our congregation is about 18 inches from the stage, and I move around... a lot. The Margin for error is very high when it comes to wearing anything knee-length or shorter, so I just default to wearing pants almost every week.

Well, for Good Friday, I knew we'd be at our other campus, where the stage isn't nearly as high or close to the congregation, so I knew I could actually wear something special. This dress was the perfect option. Super pretty, crazy soft, and also functional (because pockets are everything). But also not so distracting that people were thinking about what I was wearing rather than what/who were singing about/to.

I actually was approached by Cleo Madison to do a feature on Parrish The Thought and right away, I knew we were a match made in blogger heaven. The entire shop just speaks my fashion love language (cute and covered up). I'm really not a shorts wearer, dresses and skirts have been my warm weather jam since day one. Ask my mom, I vividly remember crying the day she made me wear pants to kindergarten. Jeans, and top with BLUE bows.... did she think I was a BOY?!?! I was scarred. Anyways, I digress... The entire site is cute. You can peruse at your leisure, But I'm loving my dress, and this one, and this one.
Well, everyone, that's about it for me today! Just a little insight of my stage fashion musings. What do you think? Do you care about my styling process for being on stage? I really do want your input! Have a fantastic rest of your week! See you soon!
